Stages of façade board installation
The installation of WPC facade board is a simple process that can be done by yourself. By following the basic steps and recommendations, you will be able to clad the facades of houses qualitatively and without unnecessary costs.
Preparing the surface for installation
First of all, it is necessary to clean the wall. To do this, remove any dirt, dust, moss, old paint or other coatings from the facade. You can use a brush, scraper, high-pressure washer or other tools.
It is important to clean the wall thoroughly to ensure that the façade systems adhere securely.
The next step is to level the wall. If the wall is uneven, it is recommended to level it with plaster or plasterboard. This will help to create a level base for the facade of the house.
At the final stage, fix the waterproofing membrane, which will help protect the facade from moisture, mold and fungus. It should be mounted on the wall using special fasteners or glue.
Mounting the framework for the facade board
After preparing the substrate, you can start installing the framework, which consists of the following steps:
- Select the material: For the frame, you can use wooden planks or metal profiles. Wooden bars are a more affordable option, but they are prone to rot and deformation. Metal profiles are more durable, but also more expensive.
- Mounts the frame: Install the vertical and horizontal rails of the frame with a spacing of 40-60 cm. The spacing between the rails can vary depending on the width of the facade board.
- Check the equality: Make sure that the framework is level without any gradients. Use a level for this purpose.
Facade board installation
The final stage of installing the dpc facade board, consists of the following processes:
- Fixing the starter strip. It is mounted on the lower part of the facade and serves as a support for the first row of facade boards.
- Mounting of the facade board from bottom to top, with fixing to the frame with self-tapping screws or claymers. The self-tapping screws should be stainless steel and the clips should be galvanized steel.
- Leave 3-5 mm gaps between the boards to compensate for temperature deformations. This will help prevent the facade boards from warping and cracking.
- Fix the finishing strip to the top of the façade.
